Even the Pope agrees — recycling is good for the environment.
In a recent video statement, Pope Francis praises “cartoneros,” or individuals who pick through trash to find reusable and recyclable material, and condemns a wasteful mentality.
“We can’t afford the luxury of looking down on leftovers. We’re living in a throw-away culture,” Francis said.
